What a Good Connection Actually Gets You

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.

MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.

A Crossroads Town Since 1906

Killam sits at the junction of Highway 13 and Highway 36, the Veterans Memorial Highway, about 70.8 kilometres (roughly a 46 minute drive) east of Camrose. A Canadian Pacific Railway line runs through the same crossroads, and the town still functions as a regional trade hub for the grain and cattle country around it. Killam was incorporated as a village on December 29, 1906, and became a town on May 1, 1965.

Notable Killam residents include Olympic gold medal curler Kevin Martin, Member of Parliament Damien Kurek, and NHL coach Bill Peters. Sedgewick sits just down Highway 13 to the east, Camrose is west, and Strome is immediately north.

54 Years of the Killam Rodeo

Every June, Killam throws open its gates for the Killam Rodeo: rodeo performances, mutton busting, fireworks, a parade, a street fair, and a pancake breakfast in a tradition that has run for more than 50 years. The 54th annual edition runs June 19-20, 2026, and because the Killam Agriplex is under renovation, this year’s rodeo has relocated down the highway to the Sedgewick Ag Grounds.

The rest of the year, the Agriplex itself (Memorial Arena, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a multi-purpose room), a Family Resource Centre, parks, a campground, an airport, and a library keep Killam busy.

Connected at the Legion

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #65 sits at 5117 51 Ave in Killam, and MCSnet keeps the branch connected, supporting the veterans and community groups who gather there. It’s a small example of the kind of local relationship that comes with building a network in the towns we call home.
