Community Connections

Supporting Our Communities

Our Community Connections program is dedicated to giving back, supporting local initiatives, and creating meaningful opportunities right here at home. Whether it’s sponsoring community events, funding educational programs, or collaborating with local organizations, we’re committed to empowering the communities where our families, friends, and neighbours live and work.

Community Connections Pillars

We take a strategic approach to community investment, following pillars that guide us toward the most impact.

Agriculture

Events that gather the community together to celebrate the agricultural industry and its traditions, such as rodeos and agriculture expositions.

Youth

Empowering youth aged 15 to 24 to live a life with no boundaries through learning opportunities, support systems, or unique experiences.

Technology

Encouraging technological innovation related to the internet or educating the public on the topic.

How The Community Connections
Program Works

Our Community Connections Program was designed to spread impact by reinvesting a portion of our profits back into the community. This goes toward providing free internet and donations to Alberta nonprofits.

This is how it works

Albertans like you support us by signing up to MCSnet: Customers across rural Alberta sign up for our high-speed internet services.

We directly support local nonprofits with a portion of our profits – through donations, sponsorships, and free or discounted internet.

We all thrive together as a community through better internet access and resources.

How We Give

Choose the kind of support that’s best for your organization. We partner with you to provide the right support that will help your nonprofit and people thrive.

Here are ways we support you:

  • Free/discounted Internet Partnerships: Discounted or complimentary internet services in your building
  • Direct Donations: One-time funding for a specific need, event, or cause
  • Sponsorships: Long-term strategic partnerships to uplift local organizations

Who We Give

We give back to local organizations that are vital to Alberta’s communities.

Here are ways we support you:

  • Local Societies & Associations: Sports teams, community leagues, agricultural societies.
  • Nonprofits & Charities: Museums, libraries, arts foundations, youth and seniors clubs.
  • Community Events: Rodeos, concerts, festivals, agricultural fairs, business conferences.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for our Community Connections program, your organization must:

  • Fall under at least one of MCSnet’s community investment pillars (agriculture, youth, technology)
  • Be located within MCSnet’s service coverage area
  • Align with MCSnet’s values
  • Not compete with stakeholders’ best interests.

Hear it From The Beneficiaries

We are helping nonprofits across Alberta stay connected

MCSnet’s donation has helped the Cold Lake Agricultural Society greatly. By providing the Cold Lake Ag Society with high-quality, high-speed internet access, we have been able to modernize our facility and offer quality Wi-Fi access to the users of our facility. The internet allows our employees to be more efficient and allows our organization to help many other non-profits and event providers within Lakeland that call our facility home.

An internet connection is undoubtedly integral to our operations across the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society facilities. Currently, our operations rely on broadband and sharing large amounts of information across the internet. SCARS has over 300 volunteers across Alberta sharing information daily, and this donation of a free internet connection provided by MCSnet positively impacts everyone and beyond.
