MCSnet 2023 Scholarship Recipients

At MCSnet, we’re not just about ensuring high-speed internet reaches the countryside; we’re also committed to empowering the next generation of learners. We recognize the challenges faced by students in rural areas and we’re proud to support students in our service area with our MCSnet Scholarship Program.

Every year, we support four deserving students with scholarships of $1,000 each, aimed at breaking down barriers to higher education. Because at MCSnet, we believe in connecting communities and fostering potential. In saying that, we are pleased to announce the 2023 scholarship recipients…

Congratulations to the following students:

1. Parker Gueth from Barrhead, AB – U of C Bachelor of Science (Computer Science)
2. Damon Pashko from St. Paul, AB – U of A Bachelor of Science (Computer Sciences and Mathematics)
3. River Halfe from St. Paul, AB – Pixel Blue College Edmonton (Audio Engineering and Production)
4. Brooklynne Kelley from Mallaig – MacEwan University Bachelor of Science (pre-med)

Each of the award winners was presented with a $1,000 cheque and an MCSnet swag bag. 

To be eligible for our 2024 Scholarship Program, you must be pursuing post-secondary education in Computer Science or related studies, and reside in the MCSnet service area.

Jenna Willert

Marketing Assistant

Jenna is the dedicated Marketing Assistant behind CMO Rhonda Lafrance and MCSnet. She joined MCSnet in August 2022 and is instrumental in communicating the company's technical offerings to the countryside residents through social media platforms. Jenna helps with administrative duties and the planning and execution of marketing initiatives. Born in Calgary and raised in Edmonton, Jenna works a hybrid between home and in the Edmonton office. She comes from a background in promotional marketing in the media industry. She loves sports and being a mother to her two children ages 13 and 7.
