We currently have an opportunity for an Internet Installation Contractor to join our MCSnet team. Working with the Installation Scheduling Manager, the Internet Installation Contractor will be the face of MCSnet and will complete internet installations and service calls within MCSnet’s service area. We are looking for highly motivated and independent individuals who can provide our customers with quality service and expertise. The Internet Installation Contractor will be fully trained using MCSnet’s customer service policies and our own internally designed software.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Performing all installation functions associated with the addition, modification and removal of MCSnet’s technology equipment and hardware including testing, drilling and running cabling, terminating network Indoor and Outdoor Ethernet cable into RJ-45 ends.
  • Mounting Tripod, J-Arm or Mast apparatus to structure and seal to ensure no leaks.
  • Maintaining familiarity with app-based programs.
  • Installing and servicing of wireless internet to residential and business customers.
  • Assessing and troubleshooting equipment on site.
  • Analyzing problems and developing solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Working safely at heights due to extensive ladder work, tower climbing, (up to 40 ft towers) and working on roofs.
  • Completing work orders accurately as per scope of work.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers in a positive and professional manner.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Include but are not limited to:

  • 1-year previous experience in technical related fields is preferred.
  • Network experience would be preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer and technical skills are required.
  • Must be able to operate power tools skillfully.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Must have a Ltd. Company with commercial insurance and WCB Account.
  • Must have a WCB Account.
  • Must have and maintain a clean criminal record check.
  • Must possess tools to perform internet installations and service calls.
  • Must possess strong communication skills both verbal and written, with a positive approach to customer service.
  • Must be well organized with good time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new technology/industry changes is required.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to occupationally work extended hours as needed.

We currently have an opportunity for a Full-Time Field Operations Manager to join our MCSnet team. Reporting to the Chief Project Officer, the Field Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all field operations to ensure the timely and efficient completion of MCSnet projects. The Field Operations Manager creates and implements operational improvements to meet established objectives across the field departments, including; Construction, Infrastructure, Logistics and Fleet.

Your Role:

The responsibilities of the Field Operations manager include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Providing leadership and hands-on management of the field team, including assessing and managing performance, guiding the team's development needs, coordinating workflows, and providing feedback and coaching to resolve conflicts.
  • Leveraging operational business expertise and strategic leadership to support the company's growth and future trajectory by actively participating in the development of the strategic plan.
  • Building strong interdepartmental relationships and a cohesive team culture to maximize synergy and efficiency between the field team and company departments.
  • Working closely with Human Resources and initiating HR activities for direct reports including coaching, recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, employee development, employee recognition and general support.
  • Working closely with the Safety Administrator to ensure health and safety programs are maintained to mitigate risk, optimize worker health and safety, and foster a positive occupational health and safety culture.
  • Overseeing the completion of all work orders to ensure alignment with project scope of work.
  • Ensuring network health, reliability and service excellence through comprehensive field operations.
  • Providing comprehensive reports on performance metrics and analysis to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent is required, a university degree or college diploma in engineering, business administration, commerce or other discipline related to the company's product is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree or college diploma in engineering, construction, technology or other related field, is preferred, equivalent education and work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a similar field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Project Management/Change Management, working in a project environment is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
  • Must have a Class 5 drivers license, a clean driving record and be willing to travel, as required.
  • Intermediate level computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in email, IP, Routing, RF, and Google Office Suite.
  • Must have and maintain a clean criminal record check.
