MCSnet’s Internet Leaves A Positive Impact
MCSnet is touched to hear from the Kinosoo Ridge Resort Business Operations Manager, Ian Frankton, that MCSnet helps keep families connected at the resort and enhances their experience during first-time skiing adventures, weddings, and other special events. The reliable internet connection has played a vital role in making these moments more memorable and meaningful.
Kinosoo also shared that having a reliable internet connection is essential for the operations team and provides peace of mind, ensuring they have a reliable connection to handle emergencies seamlessly. Not only is the internet keeping the teams connected to each other, it has opened up the ability to promote all the amazing experiences offered on-site. This is a testament to how vital reliable internet businesses of all kinds are, especially in the fast paced world of recreation and tourism.
Business Advice from Kinosoo Ridge
Kinosoo Ridge Resort knows that seamless operations are essential to providing a top-notch guest experience. Their advice? Invest in reliable internet service! We couldn’t agree more. At MCSnet, we understand the critical role connectivity plays in powering essential systems like point-of-sale (POS) terminals, security cameras, and phone lines.
Our high-speed internet and dedicated support ensure smooth operations, allowing Kinosoo Ridge to focus on what they do best: creating unforgettable experiences for their guests. It’s a partnership that’s built on a foundation of strong connections, both online and off.
Kinosoo Ridge Resort Makes a Difference
MCSnet is inspired by Kinosoo Ridge Resort’s commitment to building a stronger, more connected community. Their dedication to fostering volunteerism and hosting groups like the Blizzards Alpine Ski Team, supporting local businesses (they use local products in their restaurant!), and partnering with organizations like MCSnet and local schools demonstrates their deep-rooted community values.
The resort works closely with school boards and provides over 5,000 students each year the opportunity to ski or snowboard with their peers in a safe environment while staying healthy with physical activity. It’s this spirit of collaboration and giving back that truly enriches the lives of our youth and creates a more vibrant and welcoming environment for all.
Building a Legacy: MCSnet Supports the Next Generation of Skiers
At MCSnet, we’re passionate about supporting our local communities, and that includes cheering on the next generation of athletes. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to sponsor the Cold Lake Alpine Ski Society, home of the Kinosoo Blizzards Alpine Ski Team. This last year in 2024 they celebrated their 20th anniversary!
Who are the Blizzards?
The Blizzards are a dedicated team of volunteer coaches and young skiers based in the Lakeland region of Alberta who train out of the Kinosoo Ridge Resort. They train hard, compete with passion, and embody the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. With ages ranging from 6 to 18, these athletes are not only developing their skiing skills but also building valuable life lessons in dedication, perseverance, and camaraderie.
Two Decades of Dedication
Founded in 2004 by Chris and Bev Holoboff (whose legacy is honored with the “Holoboff’s Hut” coaches shed!), the Kinosoo Blizzards Ski Team has been a cornerstone of youth development in the Lakeland region. They’ve fostered a love for skiing, built strong athletes, and created a vibrant community on the slopes.
Small Team, Big Achievements
Despite being a smaller club, the Blizzards consistently achieve impressive results. Just last year, their female U14 racers dominated the regional finals, taking 3 of the top 6 spots! This is a testament to their dedication and the quality training they receive, thanks in part to the support of MCSnet.
Looking Ahead: Races, Games, and Giving Back
The Blizzards have an exciting year ahead, hosting their annual Blizzard Blast race on February 8th and 9th, and gearing up to host the Alberta Winter Games in the Lakeland in February 2026! They also demonstrate their community spirit by supporting the Skijoring for MS fundraiser, with many current and former racers
MCSnet’s Impact: Making Skiing Accessible
Our sponsorship helps the Blizzards provide high-quality training for their volunteer coaches and athletes, both at home in Cold Lake and at mountain training camps. Thanks to this support, CLASS can offer the lowest registration fees in Alberta Alpine Ski Racing, ensuring that all aspiring skiers have the opportunity to participate. Here’s to 20 years of the Cold Lake Alpine Ski Society and many more to come!
