Are you a passionate 4-H Alberta member with a story that can inspire? Whether it is raising your first animal, learning a skilled trade, or attributing to community engagement, we want to hear YOUR 4-H Alberta Agri-Tale.

Submissions will be accepted from December 1, 2024 – February 28, 2025, and voting will take place between March 1 – 31, 2025. Winners will be announced on or before April 11, 2025.

4-H Alberta Agri-Tale Video Contest Tips and Tricks

Use your cell phone or borrow your parents’ phone to shoot your videos.
Shoot in vertical mode; this is how most people watch videos on their phones.
Don’t zoom. Stand as close to your subject as possible.
Use natural light as much as possible. Make sure you can see the subject you are filming. You may need to use a portable light source.
Tell us your story. We want to learn what you do for your 4-H project. If you don’t feel comfortable speaking, you can use captions on your video.

Tell your story with multiple videos. Instead of one long video, make a series of 30-60 second videos.
Use the video features on Instagram/Facebook or use a video editing app so that you can add fun features to your video, like captions, stickers, music, etc. Remember to save/download your video if using Instagram/Facebook.
Have fun! We want to learn more about your projects and we want you to have fun doing it. Good luck!

Each age group, Junior (9-11), Intermediate (12-14), and Senior (15-20), will be awarded with a Grand Prize and Runner Up cash prize.

Periodically, we will award prizes for inclusion on social media platforms using the contest hashtag.

Grand Prize: $500

Runner up: $100

Additional prizes on social media and many special mentions! So, to the young agriculturists of 4-H Alberta, grab your camera and let’s showcase your passion! Take us on a deep dive of your farming or agricultural journey and share it with a community that understands and celebrates every milestone.

How to Participate

Fill out the form below telling us about your project for the first time to confirm entry.
Share the stages of your project from December 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025 with photography or videography of your 4-H Alberta Agri-Tale.
Submit each entry on this page/form with a short 25-100 word description on a frequent basis to keep up updated on your 4-H project’s developments from December 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025.
Bonus points if you post publicly on social media with the hashtag #4HABContest and tag @MCSnet and @4-HAlberta

Official Contest Rules and Regulations:

Eligibility
This contest is open to legal residents of Alberta who are registered with 4-H Alberta as a member and who has a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years of age, at the time of entry, to complete each submission. Employees of Lemalu Holdings Ltd. O/A MCSnet and 4-H Alberta, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household are not eligible.

Entry Period
Submissions will be accepted from December 1, 2024 – February 28, 2025, and voting will take place between March 1 – 31, 2025. Winners will be announced on or before April 11, 2025.

How to Enter
No purchase necessary. Visit mcsnet.ca/4habcontest and complete the entry form. Limit one entry per person per day. Multiple entries encouraged to follow the progression of each 4-H Alberta project. Additional entries on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok will be awarded by posting the photo or video entry publicly and using the hashtag #4HABContest and tagging both MCSnet and 4-H Alberta.

Prizes
Each Junior, Intermediate, and Senior category will be awarded with a grand prize, runner up and consolation prize for entering at mcsnet.ca/4habcontest.
- Grand Prize: $500.00
- Runner Up: $100.00
Throughout the entry period there will be gift card prizes ranging from $25 to $100 awarded at random to additional entries submitted publicly on social media using the contest hashtag.
Selection of Winner
The eligible entries will be sorted and categorized by Junior, Intermediate and Senior age groups. One (1) grand prize and one (1) runner up winners from each age category will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received by the end date. The winners will be notified via phone and email and must respond within 48 hours to claim the prize. Failure to respond in the stipulated time will result in forfeiture of the prize, and a new winner will be selected.

Release
By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Lemalu Holdings Ltd. O/A MCSnet and 4-H Alberta and its affiliates from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or relating to such entrant’s participation in the contest.

General Conditions
Lemalu Holdings Ltd. O/A MCSnet and 4-H Alberta reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the contest as determined by Lemalu Holdings Ltd. O/A MCSnet and 4-H Alberta in its sole discretion.

Personal Information
Personal information collected from entrants will be used by Lemalu Holdings Ltd. O/A MCSnet and 4-H Alberta for the purpose of administering and showcasing the contest and, if consent is given at the time of entry, to provide the entrants with marketing information from Lemalu Holdings Ltd. O/A MCSnet and 4-H Alberta. Entrants can opt-out at any time. Video and Photo submissions will be utilized in digital advertising and promotional materials.

Governing Law
This contest is governed by the laws of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
