What a Good Connection Actually Gets You

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.

MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.

A Partnership Built With the Town

In January 2024, the Town of Smoky Lake and MCSnet announced a municipal partnership: MCSnet co-locates equipment on three town towers (the Town Office, the Agriculture Complex, and the Public Works Shop/Firehall) at no cost to the town, and in exchange existing town internet customers moved to MCSnet with no switching fees and no new contracts. The service runs on GigAir, our fixed wireless platform, delivering up to 1000 Mbps down and up. Read the full announcement.

Smoky Lake sits at the junction of Highway 28 and Highway 855, about 116 km northeast of Edmonton, and calls itself the Pumpkin Capital of Alberta. It is also just down the road from Métis Crossing, one of the region’s best-known cultural destinations. Good internet matters here whether you are running a farm, a home business, or just streaming after a long day in the field.
