Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.
MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.
Neerlandia sits at the junction of Highway 769 and Township Road 615A, about 20 kilometres north of Barrhead. It began as a deliberate colonization project: in January 1911, Henry Kippers started a Dutch colonization society aimed at building a Dutch farming community, and by December 18, 1911, sixteen men had filed for land permits, with more settlers arriving through early 1912. The name comes from “Neerland,” the Dutch word for the Netherlands, and the settlement’s Reformed-church roots still shape the hamlet today, with four congregations, Christian Reformed, United Reformed, and two Canadian Reformed churches, and two schools, Neerlandia Public Christian School and Covenant Canadian Reformed School.
Farming remains the backbone of the local economy, alongside construction and trades work.
The Neerlandia Co-operative Association was incorporated on June 30, 1922, when about 39 settlers pooled their resources to start a business supplying basic necessities to the community. The original store burned down on June 22, 2013, and a replica was rebuilt in time for the Co-op’s 100th anniversary celebrations, held July 28 to 30. Today the Co-op runs as a one-stop shop spanning a hardware store, restaurant, grocery store, agricultural services, and fuel operations, with the food store still stocking Dutch specialty items.
MCSnet’s 2022 transit fiber partnership with the County of Barrhead built 58 kilometres of fiber connecting the Kiel Industrial Park to Neerlandia, Thunder Lake, and Manola, strengthening the wireless network reaching homes and farms here.

MCSnet fixed wireless covers Neerlandia and the surrounding farms, with plans starting at $49.95 per month and speeds up to 940 Mbps depending on your address.
Neerlandia is connected by MCSnet’s 2022 transit fiber partnership with the County of Barrhead, which strengthens the wireless network reaching the hamlet. That transit fiber is a backbone connection, not fiber to individual homes at this time.
