What a Good Connection Actually Gets You

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.

MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.

A Closed-Basin Lake South of Town

Muriel Lake covers 64.1 square kilometres about 200 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, near the Alberta-Saskatchewan border, with the town of Bonnyville immediately to the north. It is a closed-basin lake, meaning water levels rise and fall with precipitation rather than a steady outflow, and levels have been gradually declining since 1980. Cabins reach the lake via Township Road 610 and Range Road 452, just before Bonnyville on Highway 28.

Whether you are set up for the season or just weekends, MCSnet’s tower network keeps the cabin connected today.

Fiber Is Coming to Muriel Lake

Muriel Lake is explicitly named among the communities in MCSnet’s January 2026 fiber funding announcement, part of the federally supported build reaching 3,401 households across the region. MD of Bonnyville construction began in late 2025, with all work required to be complete by March 2027. Trees and water make lake shorelines some of the hardest places to reach with wireless signal, which is exactly why we are putting fiber in the ground here. Follow the build here.

Until fiber lights up your stretch of shoreline, our fixed wireless keeps the cabin connected today, and checking your address now puts you in line for fiber the moment it arrives.

One of the MD’s Largest Campgrounds

The Muriel Lake M.D. Park is one of the largest campgrounds the MD of Bonnyville runs, with 54 powered 30-amp sites, 39 non-powered sites, and two non-powered group areas, plus 13 kilometres of hiking and biking trails, baseball diamonds, two playgrounds, and a volleyball court. Seasonal camping runs May 1 to September 30, set up once and stay all summer.

Nearby: Moose Lake, Cherry Grove, and the rest of the MD of Bonnyville. For the wider region, start at rural internet in Alberta, or see every plan on the plans page.
