Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.
MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.
Built in 2001 to mark Stawnichy’s 40th anniversary, Mundare’s 42-foot, roughly 12,000-pound fiberglass sausage was engineered to withstand winds up to 160 km/h and cost about $120,000 to erect. It stands outside Stawnichy’s on 50th Street, the family-run meat processor that has been making Ukrainian sausage in Mundare since 1959 and has stayed in the Stawnichy family ever since.
The Basilian Fathers’ Museum next door tells the fuller story of Ukrainian settlement and the Basilian Fathers’ Mission across east-central Alberta, and doubles as the town’s visitor information centre.
Mundare packs a lot into a town this size: a skateboard park, pickleball courts, a spray park, the 18-hole Whitetail Crossing Golf Course, and Ukraina Park for baseball, camping, and playground time. Agri-Days brings a parade to town every August. Renowned psychologist Albert Bandura and artist Evelyn Roth both grew up here.
Whatever the season, your internet should keep up with life in Mundare, from the golf course scorecard app to a video call for work to the kids streaming after Agri-Days.
MCSnet provides free public Wi-Fi at the places where Mundare gathers: the Mundare Curling Rink and Rec Centre and the Senior Citizens Club. It is part of how we give back to the communities we connect, and you can see the full list on our hotspot partnerships page.
