Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.
MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.
Minburn County is home to about 3,000 people across 2,850 square kilometres, wrapped around the Town of Vegreville without including it. The county itself contains two villages, Innisfree and Mannville, and three hamlets: Lavoy, Minburn, and Ranfurly.
MCSnet has been steadily building into the county for years: buried fiber connecting Mundare to the county in 2022, provincial funding in 2024 to reach roughly 20,000 homes and businesses across northeastern Alberta, and further federal funding in early 2026 to expand fiber to more than 30 rural communities, several of them right here.
Mannville sits at the crossing of the Yellowhead Highway and Highway 881, and GigAir, our fastest fixed wireless service, is live there today. MCSnet also keeps free public wifi running at five venues in the village: the Seniors Drop-In Centre, the Recreation Centre, the Crossroads Museum, Jesus Rock of Ages Global Ministries, and the Elks Hall.
Innisfree, next to Birch Lake, is one of the first two communities in the county to receive MCSnet fiber, alongside Lavoy, and hosts a free wifi hotspot at the Innisfree Historical Society.
Lavoy and Ranfurly are both named in MCSnet’s federally supported fiber project, with construction required to be complete by March 2027. Follow the fiber projects here.

The Town of Vegreville sits inside Minburn County’s boundaries as its own municipality, home to about 5,700 people and the world’s second-largest pysanka. MCSnet supports a free public wifi hotspot at the Vegmin Learning Society in town, and our network reaches the farms and hamlets that surround it. See every speed and price on the plans page.
