What a Good Connection Actually Gets You

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.

MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.

The Friendly Village on Highway 13

The Canadian Pacific Railway founded Lougheed and named it for Sir James Lougheed, an Alberta senator from 1889 to 1925. The village was incorporated on November 7, 1911, and it has carried the nickname “The Friendly Village” ever since; the village crest still references the town’s historic 1911 fire hall. Lougheed sits on Highway 13 and Highway 870 near the Battle River Valley, about 95 kilometres southeast of Camrose, with Sedgewick as its neighbour to the west.

Grain, Gas, and a Modern Seed Plant

Wheat, oats, barley, canola, and ranching anchor Lougheed’s agricultural base, alongside natural gas and oil supply services, farm-machinery dealers and repair shops, and water-drilling companies; the Lougheed Seed Cleaning Plant modernized its facility in 2017. The village sits close to the South Athabasca Oil Sands area and the Hardisty pipeline hub, where the majority of Alberta’s oil production converges, and is served by the Flagstaff Regional Airport.

Standing with the Legion

C.J. Kinross VC Legion Branch #180 has served Lougheed’s veterans for generations, and MCSnet keeps the branch connected as part of the relationships we build in the small towns we serve.
