What a Good Connection Actually Gets You

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.

MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.

Two Villages, One Lake

Island Lake sits about 20 km northwest of the Town of Athabasca, near Highway 2. The Summer Village of Island Lake, on the lake’s western shore, incorporated in 1958. The Summer Village of Island Lake South, on the southern shore, is a separate, independently governed village, though both share the same lake, just under 8 square kilometres and dotted with small islands.

Athabasca County runs its own campground here too, with unserviced sites, a boat launch, and a fish cleaning station for the day-trip crowd.

Rolling Hills, Quiet Water

Island Lake’s own community website calls it a nature lover’s paradise, rolling hills and forest filled with deer and moose around a lake built for swimming, boating, and canoeing in summer, then cross-country skiing and ice fishing once it freezes. Island Lake Bay Days brings the community together every summer.

None of that changes what a cabin needs from its internet: enough speed for a video call, enough reliability for a security camera through the winter, and no hassle getting it installed.

Internet at the Lake

MCSnet fixed wireless reaches cabins around both Island Lake and Island Lake South today, the same tower network that covers the farms nearby. The Town of Athabasca and its own page, Athabasca high speed internet, are about 20 minutes away.
