What a Good Connection Actually Gets You

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.

MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.

Fiber Before It Was the Norm

MCSnet began delivering fiber to the home in Fort Kent back in 2019, alongside Mallaig and Cherry Grove, using our own capital rather than waiting for grant programs that did not exist yet. That means a dedicated fiber line to the home, buried and resistant to weather, with speeds up to 1000 Mbps today and room to grow toward 10 Gb in the future.

Fort Kent, about 32 kilometres southwest of Cold Lake, is a small hamlet, roughly 254 people at the 2021 Census, but it has run on some of the region’s fastest internet for years.

A Small Hamlet That Shows Up

Fort Kent Church, an early 20th century wood church, still anchors the community’s history, and the Fort Kent Community Hall, just north of the ball diamonds, hosts family breakfasts and floor curling through the winter. When fire crews were needed near Highway 660 in May 2025, Fort Kent’s own volunteer response joined teams from Glendon, Iron River, Bonnyville, La Corey, and Cherry Grove, a reminder of how tightly these hamlets work together. Moose Lake is just a short drive away for hiking and fishing.

Fiber-fast internet keeps up with all of it: livestreaming from the community hall, running the farm’s books, and staying connected to the rest of the MD of Bonnyville.
