Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.
MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.
The hamlet of Beaver Lake sits on the shore of Beaver Lake itself, about 4 kilometres east of Highway 36. It is a small, close-knit community, recorded at 467 people in the 2021 Census, and it is governed directly by Lac La Biche County Council. Worth noting: the hamlet of Beaver Lake is a separate place from the Beaver Lake Cree Nation, a distinct First Nation with its own reserve lands and governance southeast of Lac La Biche. The two share a name and a lake, not a boundary.
Beaver Lake and Lac La Biche Lake are the two largest, closest-to-town bodies of water in the county, and the Beaver Lake Provincial Recreation Area sits on the lake’s northeast shore, about 6 kilometres from town off Highway 36.
The Beaver Lake Provincial Recreation Area runs roughly 90 campsites for RVs and tents, along with picnic tables, showers, flush toilets, a small store, boat launches and rentals, a fish tackle shop, and fish-cleaning stations, plus nine group camping areas. Beaver Lake itself is known for northern pike, perch, whitefish, walleye, and burbot, and every August the Town of Lac La Biche puts on a fishing derby right on the lake.
