MCSnet built 90 kilometres of new fiber into Athabasca County to connect Boyle, Colinton, and Grassland, and our tower network reaches the lake communities and farms around them. From $49.95/month, speeds up to 940 Mbps.

Fiber Boyle, Colinton and Grassland since 2022, which means gigabit-capable service on a dedicated line into the building. See the fiber projects.
Our tower network is built for the farms, acreages, and lake lots past where wired providers stop, with speeds that handle a busy household and installation by our own crews.
This community is named in our federally supported fiber build, with construction required to be complete by March 2027. Follow the build.

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.
MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.
Athabasca County stretches across 6,111 square kilometres of north-central Alberta, home to about 6,959 people spread between the Village of Boyle, eight summer villages, and hamlets like Colinton, Grassland, Rochester, and Wandering River. In 2022, MCSnet completed a 90 kilometre, $2.25 million fiber expansion, half funded by the federal Universal Broadband Fund, bringing fiber to the home in Boyle, Colinton, and Grassland.
Where fiber has not reached yet, our fixed wireless towers cover the county’s farms, acreages, and lake cabins, and we keep expanding both networks every year.
Every community below is on the MCSnet network. The linked guides go deeper on what is available where you live:
Also served: Rochester, Wandering River, Meanook, Perryvale, Caslan, Atmore, Ellscott.

Athabasca County has more named lake communities than almost anywhere else in MCSnet territory: the Summer Villages of Island Lake and Island Lake South on Island Lake, Sunset Beach, Whispering Hills, South Baptiste, and West Baptiste around Baptiste Lake, and Mewatha Beach and Bondiss on Skeleton Lake. The county runs its own campgrounds at Island Lake and Baptiste Lake for day visitors and campers.
Cabins and lake lots are exactly the kind of address our tower network was built for, and Mewatha Beach and Bondiss are named communities in our current fiber expansion, with construction scheduled to complete by March 2027.
MCSnet installed complimentary GigAir Wi-Fi hotspots at three Boyle community facilities: the Community Centre, the Curling Rink, and the Arena at the Millview Recreation Complex. Village of Boyle CAO Warren Giffin said reliable internet “makes our community more accessible and more interconnected.” It is the kind of project we take on because we live in these communities too. See the full story on the Boyle page.
“Great internet service provided for rural users. We have been with MCSnet for over a decade and have absolutely no reason to change. From getting an actual live local person on the phone when you call for support, to friendly and professional technicians, MCSnet is a great value for the service received.”
