What a Good Connection Actually Gets You

Dependable internet is not a luxury anymore. It is family movie night streaming without the spinning wheel, the kids gaming with friends two provinces over, a video call to a child working away, and a rural business reaching customers anywhere. It is a full house of phones, TVs, laptops, and cameras all running at once without anyone shouting to get off the internet.

MCSnet is built to carry all of it. Check what reaches your address and we will show you the speeds available where you live, then help you match them to how your household actually uses the internet.

Named for the Beaver, Built by Settlers

Amisk takes its name from the Cree word for beaver, and the village traces back to 1906, when the Canadian Pacific Railway surveyed the area and settlers began arriving from the United States, Scandinavia, and Great Britain. A general store went up in 1907 and a school in 1916, and Amisk incorporated as a village in 1956. Today it’s home to just over 200 residents in the heart of the MD of Provost.

It’s a village that has held onto its own institutions over the decades, and that’s exactly the kind of community MCSnet’s network is built to serve.

Home to Rural Alberta’s Oldest Library

Amisk boasts the oldest registered public library in rural Alberta, a title the village wears with pride on its own website. It’s a small landmark for a small village, but it says something about a community that has kept investing in itself for over a century.

The internet running through Amisk’s homes today should live up to that same standard: reliable enough for streaming, schoolwork, and running a farm office without a second thought.

MCSnet Is Already Here

MCSnet’s own signage is up on a building right in Amisk, a sign of how deep the network already runs into this part of the MD of Provost. Fixed wireless is the core service here, covering the village and the farmland around it. See every speed and price on the plans page.
