The Edgerton Ag Society Community Hall is the main gathering place in the village of Edgerton, a large hall with a bar, a smaller meeting room, and a commercial kitchen that books out for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, and meetings large and small. The Edgerton Agricultural Society, a volunteer non-profit, runs the building and describes its mission as giving residents well equipped gathering places. The Society also runs the Edgerton Sports Grounds, with ball diamonds, an outdoor riding arena, a livestock barn and show ring, and a canteen area, after amalgamating with the former Edgerton Sports Association.
MCSnet sponsors the internet connection at the hall, so a wedding party setting up decorations, a board running a meeting, or a caterer working the kitchen can all get online without hunting for a cell signal. It is one of two MCSnet hotspots in Edgerton, alongside the Edgerton Arena a few blocks away, both sharing the same network name and password.

A hall booked for a wedding or a large family gathering often needs a reliable connection for music, payment terminals, or slideshow laptops, and Edgerton sits well out on the prairie east of Wainwright where cell coverage can be thin. A free, encrypted Wi-Fi connection at the hall means an event does not depend on whoever has the strongest phone signal that day.
MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. Browse the full hotspot directory, or read about internet across MD of Wainwright.
Yes. MCSnet sponsors a free public Wi-Fi hotspot at the hall. Connect to the network MCSNET FREE with the password shown on this page. There is no sign-in page.
MCSnet also sponsors a hotspot at the Edgerton Arena. Both use the same network name and password, so a device that connects at one remembers it at the other.
No. The hotspot is open to anyone in the building, whether you are attending an event, at a meeting, or working in the kitchen.
