The Vilna Cultural Centre hosts the village’s Sunday farmers market, where local farmers and artisans sell through the afternoon, along with community events run by the Vilna and District Agricultural Society. When the Boomtown Days parade finishes, the crowd moves to the Cultural Centre for live entertainment, food, a large market, and kids’ games. It is a central gathering point for a village whose Main Street is known for its murals and historic buildings, and the hall is used for everything from markets to private functions.
MCSnet sponsors the internet connection at the Centre, giving vendors, organizers, and visitors a way to get online during markets and events. It is one of three MCSnet sponsored hotspots in the Village of Vilna, alongside the Agri-Plex Arena and the Pool Hall, each running the same free connection.

A market vendor running a card reader or an organizer coordinating a weekend event needs a connection they can count on, and cellular coverage in a village this size is not always strong. A free, encrypted Wi-Fi hotspot at the Cultural Centre keeps markets and events running smoothly.
MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. See every free Wi-Fi hotspot in Vilna, the full hotspot directory, or read about internet across Smoky Lake County.
