About Tofield Agricultural Society

The Tofield Agricultural Society keeps the Tofield Fairgrounds running as the town’s event grounds, organizing the annual Tofield Western Days rodeo weekend along with the Ry-Tof slowpitch tournament and other gatherings that bring people into town from across Beaver County. The society is a volunteer run, non-profit organization, and the fairgrounds take in the rodeo grounds along with the street fair and slowpitch weekends that fill the site through the summer.

MCSnet sponsors the internet connection at the Ag Society grounds, so anyone on site during an event, or a volunteer working a shift at the gate, can get online without relying on cellular signal alone. The Tofield Fairgrounds also sit alongside the Tofield Curling Club, which has its own MCSnet sponsored hotspot on the same site.

  2. Choose the network named MCSNET FREE.
  3. Enter the password freewifi (all lowercase, no spaces).
  4. You are online. There is no sign-in page and nothing to register.

No MCSnet home internet subscription is needed. Access to the building follows the venue’s opening hours and visitor policies.

Why Free Wi-Fi Here Matters

Fairgrounds sit on the edge of town, and a weekend rodeo or tournament can pack the site with more people than the local cell towers were built to handle at once. A free, encrypted Wi-Fi connection means volunteers can run registration and payment systems, and visitors can check the schedule or share a photo, without fighting for a cellular signal.

MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. See every free Wi-Fi hotspot in Tofield, the full hotspot directory, or read about home internet in Tofield.
