About Radway Ag Society

The Radway Agricultural Society owns and runs the Radway Agricentre, a combined arena and community hall in the hamlet of Radway, about 70 kilometres northeast of Edmonton in Thorhild County. The Agricentre’s arena, hall, kitchen, and concession booth host everything from weddings, funerals, and grad parties to fundraisers and three music festivals a year, all organized by the volunteer-run society.

MCSnet sponsors a free public Wi-Fi hotspot at the Agricentre, so festival goers, wedding guests, and volunteers running the kitchen or concession can get online without relying on the hamlet’s limited cell coverage. It is one of several MCSnet sponsored hotspots in Thorhild County, alongside the Egremont Community Club and the venues in the Hamlet of Thorhild, and all of them use the same network name and password.

Where: 5108 51 Street, Radway, Alberta.

How to Connect

Use these steps to connect at Radway Ag Society. The network name and password are the same at every MCSnet sponsored hotspot.

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
  2. Choose the network named MCSNET FREE.
  3. Enter the password freewifi (all lowercase, no spaces).
  4. You are online. There is no sign-in page and nothing to register.

No MCSnet home internet subscription is needed. Access to the building follows the venue’s opening hours and visitor policies.

Can’t see the network? Check that Wi-Fi is turned on and ask venue staff where the hotspot is available.

Why Free Wi-Fi Here Matters

Radway’s music festivals and Agricentre events draw crowds well beyond what the hamlet’s cell towers were built for, and a free Wi-Fi connection takes the pressure off. Vendors can run payment apps, volunteers can coordinate the kitchen and concession, and out-of-town guests can find directions or share photos, all on one encrypted network.

MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. Browse the full hotspot directory, or read about internet across Thorhild County.
