About Legal Curling Club

The Legal Curling Club shares the SVF Sports Centre building with the town arena on 51 Avenue, and runs four playing sheets through the winter curling season. The newly renovated lounge overlooks the playing surface and includes a bar and small kitchen, giving league nights and bonspiels a proper gathering spot once the games wrap up.

MCSnet sponsors the internet connection at the club, so curlers, spectators, and volunteers running a bonspiel can get online from the lounge or the sheets without relying on cell coverage. The Town of Legal is known as the French Mural Capital of Canada, and the curling club is one of several public buildings around town, alongside the library and the ACFA Legal office, that now carry the same MCSnet sponsored Wi-Fi.

How to Connect

Use these steps to connect at Legal Curling Club. The network name and password are the same at every MCSnet sponsored hotspot.

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
  2. Choose the network named MCSNET FREE.
  3. Enter the password freewifi (all lowercase, no spaces).
  4. You are online. There is no sign-in page and nothing to register.

No MCSnet home internet subscription is needed. Access to the building follows the venue’s opening hours and visitor policies.

Can’t see the network? Check that Wi-Fi is turned on and ask venue staff where the hotspot is available.

Why Free Wi-Fi Here Matters

Running a bonspiel or a league night means keeping score sheets, schedules, and a bar tab all going at once, and a slow or missing connection makes all of that harder. Free Wi-Fi lets the club run smoothly for members and visiting teams alike, without adding a data bill to a volunteer run organization.

MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. See every free Wi-Fi hotspot in Legal, the full hotspot directory, or read about internet across Sturgeon County.
