The Holden Ag Society is one of the oldest volunteer groups in the village and manages the Holden Complex at the north end of town, an ice arena with a recreation side and a mezzanine meeting room. All three spaces are rented out, and the society’s own year runs through hockey, a 4-H club, Farmers Days, a cattle show, and a Christmas Market. The Holden Junior Cattlemen Show is listed among the society’s events as well.
MCSnet sponsors the internet connection at the Holden Complex, so families in the stands, 4-H members, and anyone renting the meeting room can get online without relying on a cellular signal. Holden’s other MCSnet sponsored hotspot is at The Gallery Holden on 49 Avenue, so there is free Wi-Fi at both the arena end of the village and the gallery end.
Use these steps to connect at Holden Ag Society. The network name and password are the same at every MCSnet sponsored hotspot.
No MCSnet home internet subscription is needed. Access to the building follows the venue’s opening hours and visitor policies.
Can’t see the network? Check that Wi-Fi is turned on and ask venue staff where the hotspot is available.
An arena is a hard place to get a cell signal, and a lot of the families and 4-H members using the Holden Complex have driven in from farms around the village. A free, encrypted Wi-Fi connection means nobody has to step outside to send a message or check a schedule.
MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. Browse the full hotspot directory, or read about home internet in Holden.
