About Heisler Ag Society

The Heisler Agricultural Society is a registered charity that runs the village’s Recreation Centre, home to a skating rink and four lanes of 5-pin bowling, including neon bowling nights, plus several rooms local groups can book for meetings and events. In a village of roughly 135 people, the society is one of the main volunteer groups keeping community programming going, and the Recreation Centre is a regular stop for families and clubs from Heisler and the surrounding farms.

MCSnet sponsors the internet connection at the Recreation Centre, so bowlers between frames, skaters’ families, and anyone using the meeting rooms can get online for free. Heisler’s other MCSnet sponsored hotspot is at the Community Centre on Main Street, so there is free Wi-Fi at both of the village’s main gathering places.

How to Connect

Use these steps to connect at Heisler Ag Society. The network name and password are the same at every MCSnet sponsored hotspot.

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
  2. Choose the network named MCSNET FREE.
  3. Enter the password freewifi (all lowercase, no spaces).
  4. You are online. There is no sign-in page and nothing to register.

No MCSnet home internet subscription is needed. Access to the building follows the venue’s opening hours and visitor policies.

Can’t see the network? Check that Wi-Fi is turned on and ask venue staff where the hotspot is available.

Why Free Wi-Fi Here Matters

Heisler is a small village along Highway 855, and a lot of the families using the Recreation Centre have driven in from farms nearby where cell coverage can be patchy. A free, encrypted Wi-Fi connection means nobody has to step outside between bowling frames or skating sessions to check a message.

MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. Browse the full hotspot directory, or read about internet across Flagstaff County.
