About Elk Point Pioneer Seniors Centre

Known locally as Pioneer Circle, the Elk Point Pioneer Seniors Centre on 48th Street has served the town’s seniors for a long time as a social, recreational, and cultural hub. The centre hosts card games, floor curling, exercise classes, bingos, music jamborees, and rental space for community groups, giving members a regular reason to get out of the house and see familiar faces.

MCSnet sponsors a free public Wi-Fi hotspot at the centre, so members and visitors can video call family, look something up, or just stay connected during an event. It is one of five MCSnet hotspots in Elk Point, alongside the A.G. Ross Arena, the Elk Point Riding Arena, the Elk Point and District Curling Society, and the Elk Point Regional Allied Arts Society, all sharing the same network name and password.

Where: 5010 48 Street, Elk Point, Alberta.

Why Free Wi-Fi Here Matters

Seniors centres like this one are often where members with limited mobility or a spotty home connection get their best chance to video call grandchildren or catch up on news. A free, encrypted Wi-Fi connection makes that easy, without an account or a monthly bill to worry about.

MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. See every free Wi-Fi hotspot in Elk Point, the full hotspot directory, or read about home internet in Elk Point.
