Elk Point sits on the North Saskatchewan River in the County of St. Paul, and its community life runs through a handful of well-used buildings: the A.G. Ross Arena for hockey and public skating, the Riding Arena for barrel racing, roping, and 4-H, the curling rink, the Allied Arts Centre for weddings and the weekly farmers market, and the Pioneer Seniors Centre for cards, bingo, and floor curling. The A.G. Ross Arena and the Riding Arena belong to the Elk Point and District Agricultural Society, and the rest are run by their own community societies, most of them staffed by local volunteers.
