About Amisk Ag Society – Recreation Complex

The Amisk Agricultural Society runs the Recreation Complex alongside the village’s Community Hall, and it covers most of what the village does outdoors and on the ice. The Society maintains a covered skating rink and a curling rink under one recreation centre roof, plus open sports grounds, a tennis court, a gazebo, and camping areas with an RV sewer dump nearby. The Society’s Open Bonspiel and Ladies Bonspiel are among the events that bring curlers into Amisk from surrounding communities each season.

MCSnet sponsors the internet connection at the Recreation Complex, so curlers between ends, skaters taking a break, or campers parked nearby can get online free. The hotspot uses the same network name and password as the one at the Amisk Ag Society Community Hall a short walk away, where the Society holds its community suppers, breakfasts, and other indoor events.

How to Connect

Use these steps to connect at Amisk Ag Society – Recreation Complex. The network name and password are the same at every MCSnet sponsored hotspot.

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
  2. Choose the network named MCSNET FREE.
  3. Enter the password freewifi (all lowercase, no spaces).
  4. You are online. There is no sign-in page and nothing to register.

No MCSnet home internet subscription is needed. Access to the building follows the venue’s opening hours and visitor policies.

Can’t see the network? Check that Wi-Fi is turned on and ask venue staff where the hotspot is available.

Why Free Wi-Fi Here Matters

A recreation complex that draws curlers and campers from beyond the village itself needs a connection that does not depend on how strong a visitor’s cell carrier happens to be out this far into the MD of Provost. Free Wi-Fi means a bonspiel score, a work email, or a weather check all just work.

MCSnet sponsors this hotspot as part of its community partnership program across rural Alberta. Browse the full hotspot directory, or read about home internet in Amisk.
